The butterfly effect is the sensitive dependence on initial conditions, in which a small change in one state of a deterministic nonlinear system can result in large differences in a later state.

With that being defined, let's talk about the "what ifs" because it hit me when I woke up and decided to watch In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies (Good PPV btw). Imagine what could have been if the dude that brought in his camera didn't take footage of this infamous moment:

  • Would Trips be a bigger household name since he took all the shyt, or been a midcarder that ended up in an Indie swap meet event
  • Would HBK even decided to form DX? Would the Kliq end up deciding to go over to the enemy territory in Atlanta
  • What about the whole Attitude era? Would that fade away as shoots and work still be an inside term and not so much a mainstream thing?
  • Would WWF closed the doors as fans looked over the whole corny, outdated aspect of the New Generation?

What about the Screw Job? Imagine if Vince didn't change his plans, would it make much of a difference? Bret Hart being a man of his word, giving the belt back to Vince and moving onto greener pastures.

What if WCW never went out of business?

Now modern take. What if Cody decided to deal with Vince's sling bullshyt gimmicks...would "All In" be a big factor as Cody continued to be in midcard hell? What if "All In" was a complete failure on some AWA shyt?

its really fascinating how some of the biggest moments were led by circumstances

Its crazy man. Like if Paul Heyman never got fired from WCW or in some cases got creative control (without the antisemitism), ECW would have just been a typical NWA "territory". Its like actions always have a deeper impact which leads to a whole different reaction.

I swear, only in wrestling, its like a simple storyline could impact the entire industry. One firing could lead a revolution. Or a incident could save a person's life. Like lets go deeper...what if Brody decided to never take that offer to go in the shower with Invader II.

What if Owen stood his ground and told Russo to fukk off , I'm not doing this dumb stunt.

Crazy breh...

There’s a YouTube video on this

Mustafa Ali shyt is so trash. He was never supposed to have kofi's spot... nikka was in a match. The fans aint really like him like that. Kofi was put in the match and fans got behind him. Fans were not behind ali. Yes ali was in the chamber but theres no proof he was gonna ever fight d bry at mania.

What would have happened if RVD’s car never got pulled over in 07?

Imagine if Sabu would had taking Vince on that offer, instead of being a weedhead about the situation, Dude would have been larger than life and maybe in the HOF.

whether that was recorded or not...Hall and Nash was out the door and leaving for WCW. Vince wasn't gonna and couldn't afford to match Eric Bischoffs offer/deal.

HHH would've won KOTR in 96 instead of Stone Cold and we never would've got the Austin 3:16 promo :damn:

Man...imagine if Dr Death never got injured during the "Brawl 4 All". Dude...Austin/Williams would have been whew:ohlawd:

If Vince had just put the Universal Title on Jericho instead of Goldberg at Mania. AEW still happens but they have to launch with either Omega or Hangmayne as the inaugural champion. Doesn’t quite pop as much for the mainstream

Jericho coming out at that press conference changed everything

Imagine Tony Khan not taking that chance with funding the Dub...or if WB/Discovery scoff at the idea of wrestling on the Turner network.

What...if Cody stuck with AEW and decided to turn heel. Would that make any sort of difference with the direction of AEW or it would just be a waste of time with turning heel.

AEW itself is like one big reaction to a group of indie/puro wrestlers and fans that wanted a different alternative to the WWE.

Now with that being said...imagine if IMPACT continued to Cross the Line...

They would have started cheering Cody and from a logical perspective they would have had to turn him face like 3 weeks later. He was in a no win scenario

Exactly. Folks tend to think Cody is some sort of Judas but his time was up in the Dub. He already personified the larger than life entertainment factor that didn't click well with the promotion.

Now what if Cody's return at WM didn't go as planned. Would he just been a failure altogether and living his father's past, or he would accept his mid card ways.

Now let's go deeper...what if Dustin never made it to the WWF and decided to fall back, would Cody even want to fulfill the American Dream?
