This is one of the exact reason many companies have a zero tolerance policy on workplace relationships

Also for people asking why the gap from finding out in July to the suspension 2 months later, they likely launched an investigation and handed out punishment after the investigation ended this is pretty common policy

At the end of the day all work place flings can come down to this because every woman of man is capable of coming away with a negative opinion of the relationship and going to HR like this

I’ve never been at a company or know of one that bans relationships between employees. There are rules against starting relationships with your subordinates. Also why everyone keep saying Ime did this or that. It was two people having sex if he wasn’t raping her they are both at fault and both violated company policy.

The Cactics went out of their way to say in their initial statement that it WAS consensual intimate behavior. As if that's the only info they wanted us to know.

Perhaps the "victim" brought the matter to light with irrefutable evidence, exposing them to liability and scandal. Then she agreed to a private settlement, signed an NDA, and the organization is saving face with this wording.

It could have started out consensual, but then Becky flips and poured white women victim tears. You never know.

Actually, those guys look smart as hell, because if the Celtics enforced this policy properly in the first instance, and didn't turn a blind eye to the "consensual relationship", this wouldn't have turned into a situation where whatever relationship they did have has ended in him being accused of what looks like sexual harassment.

If they nipped this in the bud from the get go, we wouldn't even be discussing this right now.

With all that said, given what has unfolded in this thread, it's probably for the best to wait until we know the full story before making any grand proclamations. We still don't even know who exactly knew of this relationship in the first place -- for all we know it could've been parties which weren't HR or any of the higher-ups that ultimately ruled on his suspension. I have suspicions that the people who knew back in July didn't wanna be the cause of Udoka getting into trouble., which could be part of the reason why he's copped a lengthy suspension.
