The BMW 335i thread

Combination of the HPFP failing and the injectors leaking. Couldn't do both at one time bc they didn't throw codes at the same time.

Out of warranty replacing the injectors are about $2000 worth of work. Apparently BMW revised them in the past couple of years so all have to be replaced if they fit in a certain date range.

What's crazy is that this car isn't a lemon. This all normal for this car.

Could would start but struggled to go anywhere. Could basically chug along like a steam engine

Got the HPFP replaced for free and still problems. Started up fine maybe 1/10 times.

Cost about $1900 from a independent shop
BMW was tryna charge me $300 for each injector plus I had to pay for labor

If you do buy one, just make sure its a later N54 ie '10, or just get a 135/335 with the N55 engine. They're a good bit more reliable.

'07-'08 cars are dangerous without a warranty.

Yeah I heard that the N55 should be more decent, but the 2010+ are out of my price range.

Yo I also heard that for 09+ 335i they took out the standard Logic 7 sound system and down graded that shyt. Is that true?

Do you know if they downgraded to the HiFi system or the garbage ass bottom of the bottom sound system?

I don't know. I'd assume it wouldnt be the super basic stereo. Logic7 is great though.

I've got the super-basic system in mine and it's without question the worst sound system I've ever heard. I shyt you not, my AC on full blast is louder than my speakers.

That is correct, they dropped Logic 7 as standard equipment and turned it into an upgrade option. The N55 is way better in terms of reliability but if you can't go that route then find an N54 with low miles and purchase an extended warranty, it'll cover your big cost items most likely and the warranty will go just in time to dump it for another car.

I heard that after 60k your days are numbered. I'm at 30k now so i'd suggest finding one around there and spend the $ for the warranty. Get the vehicle history if possible as well. I had to drive to the dealer that recieved the car from europe to get mine which ended up being 2hrs away, but knowing what's been done to the car provided some peace of mind.

About a year and a half at the same dealer.

There's no way that gasket should have gone bad again after a year and a half without there being some sort of screw up on the dealers part...

I'm deciding selling my 335i
2007 335i E90 with sports package
82k miles. No problems with engine.
Navi, heated seats + every feature possible

Theres so many scruffs and scratches though
Plus frame damage. Nothing that affects performance though.

Just dont feel like paying insurance + the car note
