Old topic, but to answer the question, neither Nas or Jay Z mentioned sales in their battle. Jay belittled Mobb Deep, but there is a reason why he didn't hit Nas with the "I sold what your whole album sold in my first week". For one, Nas was consistently going platinum even with Nastradamus which was two platinum albums in the same calendar year.
