I've been an avid chess player since I was like 12 or 13, 2 things I've always noticed is how shocked a lot of people are when they find out a black kid plays chess, and once they come to terms with the fact that your a respectable player they automatically assumed you learned to play so well because you've been to jail where that's all there is to do or you have an influence who did a bid and learned it well then taught you.
