Almost done with Genesis and realizing that these stories are actually pretty interesting.

:ehh:

At the part where Jacob reconnects with Joseph and brings the whole crew from Cannan(?) to Egypt.

A lot of odd stuff: women essentially having no rights, multiple wives, folks living to 130+, dudes constantly plotting and scheming, God sonning entire groups of people, God speaking to some people but not others … But yeah, it’s surprisingly interesting.

Planning to read the whole thing by end of year, then reading the Quran next.

The only way to read and truly understand the scrolls is to read it in it's source language...also, having a fundamental understanding of a related Afro-Asiatic language, particularly the ones that still have millions of living speakers like Arabic, Ge'ez, Amharic, Tigrinya etc. is vital for understanding word definitions, syntax and grammatical concepts.

But if you're too lazy for all that and are just going to read an English bible...make sure you stop reading at II Maccabees, lest you potentially get bugged out with Babylonian mystery religion doctrines in that Greco-Roman NT.
