Based on Curtis last fight and Lemiuex looked very good I can't see anything other than a violent KO on Stevens.

Wouldn't mind if he and Andy Lee win to make Lee vs Lemiuex

:takedat:

Canelo would absolutely crush David. Get him vs Andy Lee or BJS. Still it shows Lemiuex got a lot in the tank left. Not sure why ppl thought Stevens had a chance.

lemeuix is world class at that heavy bag boxing. when guys put both hands up and let him hit them.

what about when he's in there with someone who boxes and doesn't stand there waiting to get hit :jbhmm:

This fight looked like a muay Thai fight without the kicks and elbows. Anyone who seen a muay Thai fight knows what I mean. You stand there and let me unload bombs and on you. Then I stop and stand there and let you hit me. And whoever is the toughest wins. That's not boxing

We've seen it with GGG and Joachim Alcine

Exactly. He doesn't want to seem to dig in and learn how to box. It's like all his work goes on just punching technique and conditioning to keep throwing bombs. He's obviously a destructive puncher and a strong guy but we've known that from the beginning of his career. It's not enough. It's like he learned nothing from those losses

I think it's that combined with his build. He's compact in a linebacker way. You look at GGG, Canelo or Jacobs (or Charlo or Lee to a degree) and they have slender proportional builds. He's like a dude who only bench presses and curls. Look how much he struggles to boil down to 160.

Now he hits like a tank but I think he's limited.

When I say box I don't just mean jabbing and being able to fight a distance. Theres lots of skills to learn so he's not just that one trick pony.

He could learn how to come in low and get past a jab. He could be learning inside fighting like positioning and hand fighting where he could get better angles to land short punches that front require all the energy that those bombs he throws does. Not every punch needs to be thrown full power.

I think he should watch some Roberto Duran tapes.

I think it also has to do with his ( I think off the top of my head) 35-3 record. At the end of the day he lost 2x when he was young and GGG. His formula as much as we want to criticize has a 90% win record. Anybody B-level outside of GGG, Canelo he gives hell. It's obvious he really doesn't need to... even if we would like him to.

Dude been a pro like 8 years he ain't changing. Might as well milk it. His style got him this far.

He doesn't need to. I was just assuming he wanted to be the best mw in the world. He could be perfectly happy with his career and will obviously make a lot of money off people paying to watch him knock out b and c level fighters.
