One of the main characters is based on Bernard Garrett (played by Anthony Mackie). His son Bernard Garrett Jr. is the one being accused of molesting 2 of his half sisters.

SO this is no surprise. She even posted a link to story of the movie being cancelled on her twitter timeline.

Besides him being a producer on the movie, which is obviously not a good look now, the movie fudges the timeline to make it so the sisters and their mom aren’t involved when they were. So now the lawyers are making it so the film says “based on true events”
Move forward, dump his name off the movie and get him out the paint. Move on

He was a co producer and has already been deleted from production credits. This chick is being petty though. It's a movie, not a documentary. The Pursuit of Happyness is a prime example of the real events being reconfigured and embelished to make for a better movie.
It seems to me like the sister or sisters are trying to sabotage the flick out of spite.
Apparently he wasn’t moved off the flick that long ago tho. Especially since as of two weeks ago, he was doing press with the director. THR says he just stepped down as a producer. So thats that.
Again the lawyers already said how they’ll fix it. Add a tag to the beginning and move on.
Not saying what she is or isn’t trying to do. Apple and whomever else is producing the flick already figured out an answer.
