throw it in the spoiler tags breh :myman:

Ok aside from depression, it's also a metaphor for guilt and just the craziness that comes with being a single parent, specifically a single mom and the pressures that come from it. When she eventually snaps and succumbs to the monster, it can be her just as easily snapping and succumbing to the pressure and trying to figure out what to do. When she's dead tired and the kid comes in her room just asking her for food and you can see that look on her face? Man, that's tough and scary in itself.

Yeah the Babadook is scary just off of the strength of how hard it is to be a single parent. And especially a mom that has to be everything for her son. :mjcry: sht was too real for today society

The only thing scary about Babadook really is being a single parent with an a$$hole for a kid. Other than that I thought the movie was real overrated, slept like a baby that night. But then again I don't really enjoy scary movies in general so :yeshrug:

Just saw Babadook, and I have mixed feelings about it.

As a thriller, it was sufficiently unnerving and creepy, and I really like the symbolism and deeper psychological subtext behind the babadook. I'm still thinking about what it may have represented.

However, as a horror flick, it just didn't do it for me. Maybe I'm jaded, but I didn't jump once.

But I loved the actress and little boy though, excellent acting. I really felt the mother's anguish and fatigue. Extremely strong writing and character development. It's just not really a horror movie to me.

4 out of 5 just because I wanted to be scared, but wasn't. Still a great film though.

Not a horror persay, psychological thriller would be more like it. Babadook gave me the jeepers creeper vibe tho :lupe: still slept like a baby tho that night :blessed:

Can't find the horror thread so I'll put this here. Rosemary baby had a wonderful cast. Very dry movie. The cast played the occult to the T but I felt like the devil shoulda been more devilish
