Wasn't there a report from last year about how the average age of people who watch wrestling period being like 55 years old?

Wrestling as a form of entertainment just has an overall older demographic I guess.:yeshrug:

Is this supposed to be surprising? Younger people don't watch wrestling like that anymore. The overwhelming majority of wrestling fans are older people who've been watching since they were kids and are desperately holding on to their childhood or still watching out of habit. :yeshrug: The industry is going to have to dramatically change to revitalize the younger market again.

Wrestling is a dying industry and I don't see it improving in the near future. Plus there are better alternatives for entertainment today compared to 30 - 40 years ago.

93 million miles above these devils
the demo is all that matters to channels and advertisers. This stat doesn't mean anything because at the end of the day AEW has the most young viewers every Wednesday and if not the most then top 3-4.

Same with WWE. RAW and SD! been doing well in the demos compared to other shyt that's on TV..

Fact is Gen Z don't even watch TV. They are on social media all day.

This is a lie. Not all people who fall under 18-49 or 18-34 or whatever split is convenient that week are created equally. It's a far more detailed process that's more concerned with socio-economics than arbitrary age groupings. In terms of priorities projected income, projected education levels, geography (location), race and gender are dealt with long before they even get to ages. It's why Golf will always air on TV regardless of the fact that its viewership is negligible and its demos are pre-historic, it attracts a better quality of sponsor and advertisers are willing to pay more for ad space because the people watching it are wealthy. This is why Formula 1 gets Rolex and NASCAR gets Monster Energy.

The demo is largely irrelevant for wrestling because its viewers have already been tossed in the trash before they even check the age demo. Wrestling fans are still considered poor/uneducated. Your poor & uneducated viewers skewing younger isn't going to entice advertisers any more. Marginally younger trash is still trash.

The "demo" is outdated and doesn't matter in 2021 (especially when, you know, the audience is trash) and the only reason why wrestling fans even bring it up is because it's an arbitrary mechanism that ensures that AEW would always "win" this "war" against NXT even on nights when NXT gets higher viewership. Nobody was bringing up demos back when they somewhat mattered in the 90s when Raw and Nitro were going at it.

This cant be right

Tsc told me they were 18-35

To play devils advocate though -

average age of MLB viewer is 57

the average age of the NFL viewer is 50

the average age of the average NBA viewer is 42

tv ratings and the way they’re gauged is prehistoric.

This criteria itself is completely outdated. They think wrestling fans are redneck buffoons. In reality they're nothing but fat geeks now. They got the most expendable income
