shyttttt, how does one get into congress
move to a red district and say crazy things like libs are bloodthirsty vampires that bite the heads off of little innocent white babies................ that should get 40% of the vote in that district... you want to add another 11% then you're going to have to sell that you really believe the first sentence....

They are there for self enrichment first and foremost. The road to good intentions and all that there type speak........AOC is learning that first hand. I can't imagine being a person of actual worth.......of real action......and having to compromise with known dirtbag/scummy individuals. Term limits are absolutely necessary/should be mandatory. You can't expect tyrants to create the legislation that will dissolve there little fiefdoms though.....

Has there ever been a society that wasn’t governed by the wealthy?
No, the foundation of civilization was built on people working collectively under a ruler/ruling class. But the idealists will come in and tell you your vote doesn’t mean shyt if congress isn’t filled with bartenders, refugees, community organizers, plumbers and clergy, etc. but even those with the good ol working (wo)man backgrounds still go morally bankrupt after enough time in Washington.

We need term limits

I lived in one during communism.

I'd vote for the communism now, but it does not seem realistic in the near future.

Communisim has had a bad name because it was never enforced correctly under dictatorships who claimed they live under a communism society. If a country would actually stick to the foundations of communism, then it would be the best option for a society to thrive together. Definitely much better than capitalism.

Really? Mind telling me where? I've found some examples like Red Vienna but they seem to be pretty short lived.

Or maybe some people just feel that our aspirations and standards for a civilized society should be aimed a little higher than "well, this is how the Sumerians and Normans did it :hubie:"

Yes, term limits are DESPERATELY needed, but I don't see what that has to do with pretending that someone's financial status doesn't influence their incentives and abilities for good governance.

Ex-Yugoslavia, it lasted approximately 45 years until 1990...

I'm not sure about other ex-communist countries...

What if you live in a red district and are broke and work a part time job making 10 dollars an hour? Can you still run for office and win?

I don't know anything about the foundations of communism, but ex-Yugoslavia had a market-based economy of only coops:

The system produced some brands that got exported worldwide, like the skis Elan (an article from the Sports Illustrated in 1984 about them:
YUGOSLAVIA'S ELAN SKIS, FIRST USED TO DEFEAT NAZIS, ARE WORLD-BEATERS ) or the condiment Vegeta (as much as we now hate glutamate, it was a hit at the time...)

Look it up. Its basically catering to the working class (which 90% of america is today).

Socialism is similar. Either system would work. Hell, even a democratic communism system would work(shout out to Bernie Sanders)
