Need some help brehs. Im on the market for a new TV for my room. I'm looking at 50 or 55, something below $500. From what im reading so far, alot of people seem to prefer brands like TCL and Hisense for that price point over samsung and LG.

the last TV I bought before I joined OLED gang was a TCL 50S535 in 2020…GREAT TV for gaming and watching TV/movies…I used it with my PS5 and XSX…also had a switch and PS3 hooked up to it…it goes for about $400 at bestbuy…I felt comfortable buying it after checking out the model review on rtings.com—TCL 5 Series/S535 2020 QLED Review (50S535, 55S535, 65S535, 75S535)

I had the 50" model but the review also applies to the 55, 65 and 75" as well…the 55" is $430…I would’ve gone with that in hindsight…idk why I went with 50" when the other TV I had at the time was 55"

Thanks breh. Yeah, i;m stuck between that one or the samsung au8000. I'm leaning toward the TCL at the moment.

prior to that TCL I bought, I always went with samsung when it came to TVs…but the issue I had was my other TV (also a samsung) only had 2 HDMI ports…the TCL had 4 which was important to me cuz of the systems I needed to be able to hook up to it…I was concerned about the brand but it ended up being a really good TV…no issues…greed made me step up to an OLED…as much as I love my new joint tho it was an unnecessary purchase…the samsung you’re looking at “only” has 3 HDMI ports (don’t know how many you might need) and doesn’t review that well on rtings compared to the TCL model I suggested but I don’t have any actual experience with that particular samsung model to definitively state whether or not it’s a good TV

totaltech no longer waiving restocking fees 😒
Totaltech isn't really worth having. Much of the good benefits from Totaltech came from Elite and Elite Plus memberships which Best Buy got rid of to make Totaltech seem better. Amazon Prime cost less than Totaltech and with the Amazon Rewards Visa Signature gives you 5% off any Amazon purchase and an extra year of extended warranty you get free delivery and free next day shipping on most items. About the only thing Totaltech has on it is Geek Squad support and if you're posting on this forum that's borderline worthless.
