The Arab slave trade enslaved atleast 20 million blacks, yet where are their descendants today?

I met an black emirate who said his parents decended from iran and this nikka was dark as hell. They called balushis or something similar to that

You mean khaleeji? [edit] I see you mean people originating from Balochistan.
Ive been to the emirates, Id say about 7 percent of the population is black. You can tell theyre recent migrants since alot of them dont look mixed at all, most of them resemble adewald akinnouye

Not necessarily. They are mainly East African, and don't exactly resemble Adewale. There has been a level of mixing going on between the Africans who came in from Zanzibar and the locals though I'm not exactly sure of the history. You will however see black as well as mixed race locals. Black Emiratis are of course the minority. But Africans have a stronger presence in Oman though where Swahili is actually spoken by some of the population.

Nah, something demonic happened to those children. If there was more than 10 million black females slaves having children with their masters for more than a thousand years and these childrens were bein accepted into arab society, most Arab would be mullatos.Lets not forget that around 2/3 of slaves were black women who were concubines. I dont buy that explanation.

I have to as ask if you have really been to middle east? I'm Moroccan and I have been to Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Kuwait and about 25 percent of the population in all 3 places going by America's one drop rule could easily be considered black or mulatto....

Yes, Ive been to Lebanon and saudi arabia for family reasons. Theres a huge Ethiopian community in the middle east. One drop rule doesnt make sense in the Arab world since many Arabs look "quadroonish" because of environmental adaption to the intense heat, but id agreee that north africans have alot of black blood due to their location and not because of the slave trade and this thread we are focusing on the Middle east and not North Africa

Those in the Middle east have minimal african ancestry, and the African admixture entered the semitic gene pool thousands of years before the arab slave trade, since even Askenazi Jews (they left the middle east a few thousand years ago) have the, same trace African admixture.

I Totally agree that one drop rule doesn't apply to middle east but there are clearly a descent portion of people that are mulatto or show black ancestry.

Sudan/New Zealand.
:jbhmm:Anyone know where are the missing black people in the middle east?
Just for a reference, the US had a million slaves during the antebellum period and the black population in the US is about 60 million plus or 13 percent of the population today.

:jbhmm:Strange isnt it. Blacks should makeup, atleast 25 percent of the Middle east considering that Arabs enslaved 20 times more black people than the US and the Arab slave trade went on for more than a 1000 years during a time when the middle east had a smaller population.
:martin:Strange indeed

If you are talking about the middle east it depends on the area of the region. For example i doubt they ever had a significant African slave population in places such as Lebanon or Syria, but they did have a population and still do in countries such as Yemen, and Oman from the Swahili slave trade on the east African coast. Also you must take into account most of the slaves taken to the Arab world were women, since they would not put much of a resistance in slave rebellions as it was witnessed in places such as Iraq once. Also take into account most of the men and boys taken to the Arab or Muslim world that became slaves were castrated, and many Men and boys died of castration as i remembered reading. Those who survived that process were usually employed as guards in the Harems, and many of the women in the Harems were captured people from diverse origins, as i read white women was definitely valued at a high price in comparison to black women or other races . Also don't equate Mulim slavery to the New Word variety, which was definitely "race based", since Muslims slaves consisted of blacks, whites, other Arabs, Indians, etc. Also don't equate every black person during that time was a slaves,"For example you can have two black people travelling in what is now Saudi Arabia or Oman in the past, one is a Merchant(or free person) and another was a slave capture person somewhere in Central Africa, and most likely the merchant from Africa exported that individuals under his direction to the markets of the Arabian Peninsula to acquire profits for his merchandise, so the narrative is not cut and dry as in the Western world.

Female slave most likely representing European sold in the market most likely in a harem.
