false my sisters are children of divorce. (my mom left their dad(cheater) and remarried my dad) ask any child of divorced or unmarried parents would they rather have both their parents live together in a loving home and most will say YES. and i know from my sisters not having a father in the home DOES effect kids negatively emotionally. esp girls. (they both turned out great btw (Pharmacist and Nurse Practicioner) my dad was a great step dad.

so your step dad contributed in raising kids which weren't his? They don't even do that sh!t in the jungle

not so much "financially" my mother had a great paying job in Manhattan for almost 20 years. so she was able to cover most of the expenses. my sisters dad never really contributed much financially(even though he's what most would consider "wealthy") because he was bitter that she actually left him. but my mom never really wanted his money ...she just wanted to be done with him.
Where my dad came in was moreso as an emotional support system for them since they didn't really have a good realtionship with the bio-dad for some years. they actually have since put all that behind them since having kids and everyone's cool with each other. even my mom has been cool with their dad for years.
