I'm gonna go out on a limb here and now point out that you are twisting your own arguments to make a point. From what I understood, it was not that there is high percentage of children that get molested by step-parent/boyfriends, but that a large perecentage of the children that do get molested happen to be by step-parents/boyfriends.

For example if there are 2000 families with step children, and 20 incidents, and 12 of them happened from these 2000 families... well yes, most of them are from these families, but that does not mean a significant portion of these families have incidents. Correlation vs. Causation.

That's actually not true either, considering a father can be awarded custody over a mother, in some cases. The correct statement is that a "non-custodial" parent is only required to pay child support.

And it's laughable that women have to be accountable for making a bad decision, yet men don't have to be held accountable for being bad people. Why can't both be held accountable? Especially considering anyone can be deceived. Of course a woman should be more responsible for her own body, but unfortunately for women, they don't have the "luxury" of getting someone pregnant and detaching from the situation. And in my opinion, being a terrible human being is a lot worse than making a poor decision. Everyone makes poor decisions sometimes, the consequences are just worse for some than others.

And oh yea.... "4 times more likely" still does not necessarily mean an extremely large amount of children in blended families are molested. If .25% of people get molested in regular families, and 1% of children get molested in blended families... that's 4 times as likely as well (Although just based on the sickness of this society, it's probably higher than that). But that doesn't mean that children in blended families are at a very high risk of getting molested, it just means that it is more likely than others.

Standing alone, what are the pecentages of children getting molested in blended families?

The biggest problem with our society is that we find ways to blame the people we have these prejudices against for all of our problems, when in the grand scheme of things, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, age and anything else you can think of have nothing to do with how we function. The universe knows nothing of any of these demographics. There are only people. Good people, bad people.... Moral people. immoral people. Regardless of demographics, these people shape the way our society functions. Someone doesn't pass on HIV because they are gay, they pass on HIV the same reason a straight, black or white person passes it on... because they are irresponsible and maybe even vindictive. Is the lifestyle more risky?... of course, but a responsible homesexual will not pass it on or contract it if they are indeed behaving responsibly.

Until we start analyzing people instead of demographics, we're f****d... because until then, we'll find ways to blame whatever demographic we are prejudice against. It's kind of sad really. Don't blame them because they are single mothers, blame them because they are chronically poor decision makers. Then forgive them and help them make better decisions in the future.
