anybody got puts on anything since the market is likely to go down when shorts get margin called?
I was playing cruise stock puts when the "inflation fears" made dips more violent. Didnt even make that much.

I got a put on Credit Suisse that only costs 5 bucks. Wortless right now but will instantly gains premium at the first violent dip

Remember though, AMC was trading about $13-$15 a share before Covid hit, and that is there normal price when people were going to the movies normally.

Aside from the madness that has occurred, this was one of the reasons I started buying shares when it was 10/12. Theaters will always be around and I kind of bought in not expecting much but just some consistency. This other stuff has been a blessing lol

edit: also shout out to @I Really Mean It Dude is a saint for this

Where have you heard about a margin call? They did sell a lot of crypto last night

I'm only explaining how long margin calls take and usually what banks will offer hedge funds with regards to the time frame to recover their losses or have their assets liquidated.

Nobody really cares, it’s about leverage and covering

a couple of great weekends definitely doesnt hurt though, fast should eat

The real big thing is when amc reports profits and the inflated stock price increases the worth of the company and the available cash they have (because as all companies do they own some of their own stock.

Also 13 to 15 dollars isn't the same in 2021 when the government has flushed over 6 trillion into the economy. So that baseline for amc now may actually be 25 to 26 dollars.

Just wait till folks start coming back and they show actual profits and cash available due to the stock price. This was a cash strapped company before covid and during covid. Now they haven't made a dollar in a year, but they got a war chest of money now due to retail investors. Same as gamestop.

Keep in mind, AMC is owned by a Chinese company, and although the ones traded in U.S. exchanges are subject to oversight, Chinese companies are known to shield their financial records

AMC's true price is about $20
the reason it was $15 in jan 2020 is because they had a really good year with 2019 having avengers, captain marvel, toy story, fast and furious, Spiderman, and lion king. a lot of analysts were saying the box office won't be the same
so you're right $20-$25 is where it should be in a none shorted field

The Chinese company (Wanda) that owened majority shares of AMC, recently sold ALL their shares.
85% of AMC shares are held by individual investors like us :whoo:
