What all entails a limit order

A “market” order is it gets filled at whatever price people are buying/selling at the time.

a limit order you set the price you want to buy/sell at.

The reason you avoid market orders is because the people with powers to influence things can see your order before it’s actually filled and they set the price for you, and they almost always make a profit off you.

Market orders should be reserved for when you want to get in/out a position ASAP.
