How does GME issuing a crypto currency cause a squeeze to instantaneously happen?

When someone short sells the shares go to someone, and the short seller is on the hook for delivering dividends to shareholders. Naked short sells are open short orders on the MMs books. For a regular dividend, shorts would have to pay the amount for the dividend out of pocket. Which would be a hit, but they can afford it and leave open their postion. They would just write a check to a broker.

But a crypto dividend? You can't. It can only go through the company and every single crypto coin is accounted for on blockchain ledgers. They can't deliver the dividend thus they are forced to close their postion.

Overstock did this and squeezed 500% from like 12% reported Short Interest. Naked shorts, yeah.
