Breh, keep the FUD out if you haven't done your research and don't understand the mechanics of what's in play. This aint helpful.

so can someone explain to me like I'm 5....

if the AMC stock goes up to $10,000 or even up to $100,000, how does that affect AMC's bottom line? How does that affect the actual theater chain, is what I'm asking.
This is a concept I think is very important but people don’t get.

The price of a stock is pretty much disconnected from the bottom line of a company.

Stock price goes up or down it doesn’t affect the company much unless they chose to sell more stock

The price of a stock is dictated by how much people are willing to pay for it period.

AMC stock price goes to 100K they still gotta find a way to sell movie tickets.

This goes for any stock. Instead of worrying about a companies bottom line, you should just care about where the stock price might go. That’s all that matters

This goes for any stock. They all will “crash” at some point and somebody will be left holding the bag. That’s literally how the stock market works.

Nobody has done research. This is a brand new phenomenon, meme stocks didn't exist not too long ago. These people aren't experts, they're trailblazers.
me advising caution isn't a good reason to say i'm being unhelpful. Plus dude quoted me. I was letting ya'll ride. i have some stock myself, i'm just not investing a fortune into this.

Thanks for that info. Let me ask you this: Is it in AMC's best interests for the stock to squeeze? Meaning, is a $10,000 stock share price better for them than a $10 stock share price?

:russ:None of this is new go find out about commodities and onion regulation. This has been going on since the inception of the market. The only thing that changes is how the market reacts and new rules.

In the next 10-20 years they’ll be a new squeeze, bubble, monopoly etc. There’ll always be something abusable when dealing with this level of complexity.

The market is reactive not proactive

I wanna keep the thread positive, but tons of people have done research. You characterizing this as a 'meme stock' suggests you've done less research than others. There are plenty of DDs out breh. If you don't think it's going to $100K, that's one thing that can be argued, but blanket statements saying no one knows what's going on aint it.

I agree with you that brehs shouldn't invest more than they can afford to lose (like with any investment), but beyond that it aint helpful man.

Thats one way to describe it, but historically stock is usually affected by the actual performance of the business. or something else about it that has value. a bad tweet can cause this one to crash

Not really as they have no more shares to sell.

If/when it squeezes the price will fall way down as people take profits.

AMC has already benefited profusely from the whole squeeze play. It literally saved their company. Going forward all they can hope is that some people continue to hold and keep their price up until they can issue more shares.

Individual AMC employees that currently own shares can benefit, but that’s their own money and has nothing to do with AMC as a company.

He's saying that because the same system they've used to get untold wealth is also the system that's got them in a vice grip right now. What the hedges did and the hole they are in right now isn't speculation. Hundreds of millions are getting spent overall every week on interest and rapid trading of illegally made stocks to artificially lower the price.

There will be changes after this is over to ensure something like this never happens again. But this impossible situation is only happening because they were doing flagrant "impossible" i.e. illegal things to try and bankrupt two companies to make money.

The wealthy getting to commit highway robbery in broad daylight and getting taps on the wrist is what allowed this to happen.

A bad tweet can cause any stock to crash.

We’ve seen it so much over the last couple years. Stocks crash on “good” news and pump randomly on a Wednesday.

You are better off following investor sentiment than a companies financials.
