So what was the reason GME dropped so drastically that you don’t see it happening here?
There wasn’t nearly as much support/volume then. People sold like hell because they were afraid of holding bags. Once people started really researching or looking at other’s research they found a much more resilient stock.
I forgot to add that the entire short depends on the company bankrupting. Back then it was relying on loans and nearly bankrupt. With the influx of supporters they paid off the loans years early, hired a new CEO (who successfully saved another company from being hedged), raised market cap into the billions, changed their failing business plan, brought call centers back to America, invested into crypto to potentially allow us to buy/sell used digital games, modernized stores, etc. Crypto also saved overstock from some of the same hedge funds by using it as dividends.
I didn’t really believe it had a second life until I went into a GameStop recently. Completely different aura, pay raises, better attitudes, helpful staff, etc.
It definitely isn’t in danger of going bankrupt anymore, barring a hostile corporate takeover (which I think it’s too expensive now). The only way I can see things failing is if all the shareholders collectively said “fukkallthisshyt” and sold.
