It's basically the same concept as betting the spread in sports. Calls mean you are taking the over and puts mean you're taking the under

Though its not toooooo hard not to do that, its best to start with reallllyyy small contracts and only single ones until u know what ur doin. Some brokers even allow paper trading to practice. Classicly most investors say u cant beat the market playing nothing but options but from some of the discords Im in Im def calling bullshyt


Also if u dont wfh or have access to ur account at most times of the day I would steer clear of weeklies and spy. You need to watch ahit like a hawk to get the most out of options. One minute you up 500 and then 3 minutes later u up 200.
