Hedgies dont want us to touch $32 again anytime soon.
There's a proxy vote on June 2nd and it looks like they'll be counting shares. The hedge funds are desperately trying to dig themselves out of the ditch.
Once we know the full count of synthetic shares....who knows what will happen. Might start a squeeze.....there may be a margin call.....it's going to look bad for the hedges. That's about the only thing I'm sure about.
Can any1 explain to me why the share count is so important?
Thx
AMC has 450 million outstanding shares. we strongly suspect that short sellers have been creating synthetic(counterfeit) shares to drive down the price of the stock. we strongly suspect there are over 1.2 billion shares in circulation, it could be way more.. If thats the case then that would mean hedge funds haven been engaged in naked short-selling which is highly illegal. they would be legally obligated to by back those shares. we already know per a tweet from the CEO of AMC that there are 3.2 million retail investors in the U.S and canada alone. A share count will confirm how many shares shareholders have and if it exceeds the official float then thats the catalyst that will drive the share price higher, eventually forcing the short-sellers into a margin call. they will have to cover their short position and buy back shares to cancel out the fake ones. retail owns the float, we can determine at what price to sell our shares and they're legally obligated to buy it back no matter what.
