movie is loosely based on real life groups, characters, events and voodoo in haiti.

back in the 80s and early 90s, this guy was known to have been the only case of a documented zombie:

Clairvius Narcisse - Clairvius Narcisse - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

the movie is about zombies in the classical sense - where the dead come out of the grave. back in the day in haiti, there was a paramilitary group that used to terrorize, kidnap and murder haitians. they used black magic and voodoo to scare muhfukkas by supposedly stealing souls.

this is where zombie potion comes from. i don't want to give spoilers, so you'll have to watch it.

but the "west" does have the drug now, that they took from practitioners that used to fukk with the rituals and shyt.

anyway, it's a good flick, the dude in the movie poster is bill pullman, if you didn't recognize him.

serp n rainbow was a underrated dope flick. I LOVED this one. It could have been even even better..i read the book where it took its inspiration from. Wade Davis researched voodoo in Haiti first first hand..a very good read!!

i went to a special screening on the day after Mj died (landis attended) ..lots of crazy stories and fukkeries..
i was pissed but watchin american werewolf on big screen with fans..madness!!!

my elder sibs saw this in 81..i was too young..

Movie is being remade, of course but yeah shyt is one of the first horror flicks i can remember seeing. stuck with me ever since, i love when he bites ol dudes head off lol. Movie is bananas

landis spoke about selling that off..he somewhat felt regrettable but he saw an opportunity.He lost plenty of work post twilight zone the movie and studio's still rejected him post coming to america and bev hill cops 3..

Damn bro, u should write a book or something about that experience i love behind the scenes info. I do know he lost friends over twilight zone tragedy but nothing real in depth post twilight zone. If u get a chance pass that info over to a fellow werewolf in london doggie. Much props.
