Where The Grass Is Blue
Tropical Storm and Sand Castles crazy

i like it, could do without a few, but thats the nature of just about any album

the WSG/Con song sucks tho, cant rock with any of that beat and it doenst fit the theme
I don’t think it’s bad but I definitely feel that it should’ve been left off. Almost killed the vibe of the album

Ok after multiple spins the beats are nice. Everything else is disposable. WTK and Roc tried. Griselda camp gave some leftover bars, I fukk with them but they’re getting really repetitive

Solid project. Alc should’ve used some more versatile rappers tho (spitta, Wiz, Q, shyt even Mach). Didn’t think Griselda fit the theme even tho the sand castles track is good. They’re a bit too monotone for it I think.

Like a poster said earlier, west coast rappers would’ve fit perfectly on here

EDIT: Freddie Gibbs would’ve been great on here too

Christopher Cross shyt :banderas:
WAIT WAIT WAIT...

Y'all telling me that Alchemist made two albums using YACHT ROCK songs as the foundation for his beats?!? :whoo::feedme:

Oh, this is COPPED, then.

Honestly, outside of older rap and R&B, I pretty much ONLY listen to Yacht Rock on Sirius....like, that's the only reason I still pay for it.

I believe Phonte will be on the next one too. That should sound interesting.

That's dope! I need to learn more about the genre. Isn't it kind of synonymous with soft rock?

BTW I don't want to make you like this project less, but a lot of the samples on here are 80's Japanese Jazz Fusion joints and not actually Yacht Rock, but it's fly as fukk so
:yeshrug:

Edit: This type of shyt

And Al's been in that bag for a minute. Same stuff he sampled for this joint

The more I've listened the more I agree. I actually think it's one of the doper songs that WSG and Conway have done with Alc on the beats, and I'm still trying to get a solid confirmation, but I'm 90% sure it's a joint they had in the stash that got thrown on here because the sample fit, and I don't think it was recorded with the intention of being placed on this project. It's so out of place that it almost does a disservice to the Twins track afterwards, because it pulls you so hard out of the yacht/luxury vibe that when Twins goes back in on it it feels weird. Then suddenly you're in the outro and the project is over. Definitely a strange way to end things...

Yessir....particularly, soft rock from the late 70s and most of the 1980s....again, aside from rap and old r&b, I pretty much live off this music daily, no exaggeration. I got the shyt playin in the background NOW :russ:

This is what is deemed/considered "Yacht Rock":

^^^^ .....that's the genre. :wow:

Good looks on the info, will check out both volumes from Alc!

I was quoting Roc Marc off of the first joint, but Christopher Cross is the definition of Yacht Rock :pachaha:

shyt can be cheesy AF but has some good sounds to dig for actually, I've never looked at the sample credits for the first joint I'm kinda curious.
