I think might be time for a nigerian / african piff thread....yall gonna throw me off with the female pics.
great thread.
You were obviously in the nice areas where the tourists were. You realize if I took a trip to North Korea right now I could come back with just as many pretty pictures as you posted and claim NK is not as bad as the media makes it out to be. It's VERY important you understand that. I'm highly skeptical that you actually saw a comprehensive view of the standard of living for the average nigerian.
Let me google that for you
LOL, i was born there i am Nigerian. your going to tell me if i understand the standard of living there?
I am fully aware of the poverty of the avg Nigerian, the whole world knows that, its nothing new. What is new is that their is a positive side to all this, Nigeria and Africa is booming..people are getting wealthier, more money in the pockets of Nigerians..especially the emergence of the middle class. Something critics of africa always forgot to do. Their isnt a need to show the poor shyt, when people already know more than enough. For the record things are improving quickly in that country...but stay sleepin breh
and i wasnt in the tourist area..i have an aunt in the suburbs in lagos lool
Poverty has risen in Nigeria, with almost 100 million people living on less than a $1 (£0.63) a day, despite economic growth, statistics have shown.
... a paradox at the heart of Nigeria as the economy was going from strength to strength, mainly because of oil production - yet Nigerians were getting poorer.
The NBS said that relative poverty was most apparent in the north of the country, with Sokoto state's poverty rate the highest at 86.4%.
Ok so then how do you explain this quote from the BBC?
Just because you got to enjoy the benefits of a middle class living doesn't mean the whole country is headed in that direction. It most certainly is not.
BBC News - Nigerians living in poverty rise to nearly 61%
I'm headed back to Kenya just stacking but mobile phones and mobile apps are a huge business in Africa right now. In Kenya that's how people do business now with mobile app mpesa.I'm trying to move back later on in the year
