Years later when i heard my cousin as joke say all men are wallets and black men dont like dark skin women as a early teen that shyt caught me off guard like wtf?! Especially when her dad is with her mom, her granddad is with her grandma, her uncle is with his wife, everyone around her is with dark skin women and thats not her reality but she grew up on internet, yikes..
This is some shyt I fear forreal. There has always been I guess what I would call manipulation or promoting of certain preferences/ideas over others. But for the most part it’s but so overt that I didn’t see it as that effective (simple example would be music videos). And also I used to dismiss a lot of this as the internet ‘not being real’.

But within the past 2-3 years, I’ve seen that shyt clearly seep into people around me. Talkin from 20-40 year olds. From subtlety adopting right wing ideas/politics, a recent surge of negativity towards (black) women/relationships, etc.

So if this insidious shyt is seeping into the minds of 20-40 year olds…shyt is definitely warping the minds of young (black) kids.

Combine that with gaming culture which is for the most part largely white, and then the further and further we get away from overt racism, from slavery, etc……to go with not enough emphasis on learning the past or even respecting and recognizing the past and how it affects the current. I can see (black) kids growing apathetic towards their own interest and past while also adopting white humor, preferences, etc.

The weirdest thing is being on the reddit front page and seeing the same videos posted over and over but the video is edited down and the title recontextualizes it and no one cares. Then you go way down into the comments and someone is like,"this isn't what happened" and no one gives a damn.

People are perfectly satisfied with what they're fed so why go through the effort to feed them real content? You got a point with a tendency towards chaos because if we weren't then no one would click hence there would be no incentive for the people pumping out this fake content.

There's a very narrow band (age range) of people that are highly skeptical of everything they see on the internet. Everyone else, young and old, are food.

If people aren’t calm and keeping their minds in a state of peace and focus you can get them to buy and believe sooooooo much

This shyt is literally being pushed by countries that want America to fall, like Russia.

This isn't a conspiracy. It has literally been proven.

They like targeting black people and pushing Republican talking points by the way :hubie:

It was covered here too:

"When I began to read the posts myself, I saw even more clearly how the Russians had gone about this work. They had done more than fan the flames of division. They had encouraged the view that the basic activity of democratic life—the changing of minds—had become futile. The troll farm wanted Americans to regard people with different views as immovable, brainwashed, disloyal, repulsive. “The IRA knows that in political warfare disgust is a much more powerful tool than anger,” Linvill and Warren wrote. “Anger drives people to the polls; disgust drives countries apart.”

Americans didn’t need outside help to see one another in these ways. The culture of the write-off, of mutual contempt and dismissal, could be found everywhere you looked. If anything, this attitude was a rare point of commonality across left and right."

Same thing here, of course. But Reddit is even more designed for it because the hot takes with the attention go straight to the top while the reasonable answers stay buried where no one sees them.

There's a very narrow band (age range) of people that are highly skeptical of everything they see on the internet. Everyone else, young and old, are food.

And unfortunately half the skeptics are basing their skepticism on other misinformation. "I don't believe any of that shyt you post on the internet cause this other people who posts on the internet told me that THIS was the truth!"
