nah, fukk this noise. this show sucked... but it is a perfect example of how fukkin terrible "fandom" and racism is these days. we're never gonna be able to criticise anyone or anything again b/c there are extreme fukkheads with bad intentions who ruin it for everyone. main chick wasn't good. the twins weren't interesting. but since she was a black woman (lesbian?) that's all that gets talked about. not how the coven of lesbian witches fukkin sucked, or the jedi woman was the dumbest looking character in any star war project, or how it was totally obvious that Good Place dude was helmet guy, or how Darth Plageous just kinda shows up in the background for internet sleuths to break down, etc. nah it's just, "racists ruined this show." shyt was "mid" on its best day

Obi Wan was fukkin mid as fukk too, but everyone just kinda agrees it was mid as fukk, bc there's no hot iron issue to blame racists/sexists/whateverists for.
This is my main gripe about modern "criticism", it ALWAYS gets drowned out by these a$$holes hijacking the conversation and turning it into a culture war. If you think the writing is bad, say that. If you think a certain plot point don't make sense lore wise, say that but they don't because they're too focused on the lead being a minority. Even if I did agree with some of the complaints, I can't align myself with that side because they're highlighting all the wrong shyt. It's even worse for video and social media discussions because clicking on the wrong thing can fukk up your algorithms.

but even if you open with "the writing was bad," the first comment is gonna be, "you just can't handle a black woman headlining a show." the loudest people are the most annoying fukks, and this is the only time you'll ever see me "both side-ing" something... i'm pretty much over this shyt at this point. that said I'll always align with the most annoying lefties though, even if they're annoying as fukk, and they've been spot on a lot... just not with this shyt show. imagine how fukkin lame the male leads would be on this show if it was flipped.

you're right on the algo shyt though, i don't know how i've done it, but i've managed to surf around most of the bullshyt. my shyt is clean. i can sus out right wing and "manosphere" horseshyt before clicking it.

It would be nice to get some Star Wars stories without reaching back for OG characters....

Set a story 500 years in the future...

Guess not...
I do agree look at Andor, Mando S1 & Skelton Crew. Each built its own foundation, though each had its own style that worked well for what it was going for.

Meanwhile, shows like Ahsoka, Boba Fett & Kenobi just relied on nostalgia. Granted Ahsoka wasn't as bad as the other 2 but definitely worse than the 3 that I mentioned above.

Acolyte might be the biggest disappointment from anything that is not from the sequel trilogy, since while you still had the Jedi, the setting had a lot of potential regarding the Sith before Palpatine was the main big Sith Lord. Just a cameo out of Plagueis and that is it. Directing, script and especially the acting minus Lee Jung-jae as Sol & Manny Jacinto as Qimir,
