Because for a long ass time they were pushed to the side. So now there’s course correction. You’re always going to go far in course correcting when you went so far in the other direction for actual decades. That’s the nature of us as humans.

Maybe because women make up 50% of the viewing audience for films and consistently get shut out of being nominated or winning any awards. Not because they're not trying, because the academy is still made up of white male voters.
