I feel like Egerton should’ve gotten some sort of nom because he carried the hell out of that film, but it’s a stacked year so

I haven't seen The Two Popes, maybe he could have gotten that spot but

As for @Dr. Narcisse .... bruh.. I get you didn't like the script to Joker and that's fine but the writers guild also nominated it for Best Adapted Screenplay. That means the actual writers felt it was a great script. Not people from all over the industry, I'm talking the actual writers themselves.

Usually whatever is nominated at the writers guild is also nominated in those writing categories at the Oscars.

imo the script was meh..and Phoenix ability to not have much and make the most of it was impressive.

Sometimes the oscars/others get it wrong imo. They got the nom so it is what it is. Just surprised. I still enjoyed the movie and especially Phoenix's performance.

Tough call. Pryce made Bergoglio a very likeable, sympathetic character full of personality. If I had to make the call between the two I’d probably go with him too

I guess I agree, but his reasons are awfully dumb imo. The idea that either Scorsese or Tarantino would represent a bold choice is
