Biggest difference between Cohen and Wilpon. Wilpon would have moved Mauricio to get out from under Max's contact. Cohen realizes that the money is already spent, so might as well get a great prospect.

Gonna have to look it up, but my understanding was that the Mets paid the rest of Max's salary this year, (minus the vet minimum.. league rules or some shyt) and that's all they're on the hook for.

Nah the Rangers wanted Max to opt in for next year so the Mets could send money for that year and that's what happened.

Did not realize how strong the upcoming pitching FA class is. Keep the core intact and reload the staff.

Ohtani, Verlander, Julio Urias, Yamamoto and Senga is top notch and YOUNG. Everybody other than Verlander is well below 30. Depending on how much they wanna spend in the off season, it might make sense to move Verlander and replace him with one of Blake Snell/Aaron Nola.
