However, Saban at least attempted to develop Tua throughout the season. Tua wasn't flawless that freshman year. He has some rough spots, but Saban was always keeping him ready just in case. Its why I don't know why UGA fans here were getting mad at people for pointing out how Kirby had Fields in games just to hand the ball off.

Right, in Tua’s freshman year he didn’t come in the hand the ball off or play special teams or play wildcat, they let him go out there throw the rock and yes there were growing pains but it was all to prep him for the moment when he needed to come in. It’s hard for Fields to progress when he’s playing wildcat most of the season.
