Spurs ball movement/transition offense/breakout offense/rebounding/passing/shooting/playmaking/floor spacing was so effective and advanced that year. They completely destroyed the heat in these finals. They eviscerated them. They deserved to win the championship that season. That 2013-14 spurs team was better and greater than the sum of its parts, they played very well as a cohesive unit.

As great as they were they don't belong in the same convos as GOAT level teams that some put em at. Going 7 wit that mid Mavs team wit :flabbynsick: Dirk, :flabbynsick: VC and Monta was a bad look. Ibaka missed the first 2 games of the OKC series too and they were 2-2 in games he played and those OKC teams had their number when both teams were healthy in the 2010s.

By 2014 we knew Heat was runnin on fumes and they defense wasn't close to what it was from 2011-2013. They still beat the shyt out of em in record finals margin but should be context. 14 Spurs was much closer to 12/13 Spurs than they were to any of the true GOAT level teams. Even the teams a tier below GOATs which Spurs not IMO.

Great team though never seen a team move the ball better and that was maybe the best ensemble team title ever. Damn near you could pick 2-3 different Spurs for player of the series in every round they had they was that deep and connected but that also a weakness against the true GOAT teams since they ain't even have a top 10 player. Pop's greatest achievement was that team and really the 12-14 Spurs run in general when it looked like they time was up after Grindhouse Grizz smacked em up as the 8 over 1 seed in 2011. He completely changed the team and offense after.
That Mavs team won 49 games that season they weren't "mid" at all. shyt they would've been the 3rd best record in the East

And that entire "Heat was runnin on fumes" lie is big cap. Cause wasn't nobody saying that shyt when they ran thru the Eastern playoffs and went back to Miami with a 1-1 split in the Finals :camby:

No, that would be the 2016 Cavs avenging their 2015 loss (due to injury) by beating your 73-9 Warriors chasing history and talking sh*t ("got his feelings hurt") by beating them coming back from down 1-3. :umad:
nah :umad:

No cap, this is the most shocking NBA finals I've ever seen.

Pistons vs. Lakers in '04 was a shock, but when you think more about it and watch what they did, it wasn't. The Pistons had an all time defense, Shaq was actually past his prime, no Karl Malone and Gary Payton was washed.

This series was shocking because the Spurs actually destroyed the Heat with a prime LeBron and Bosh, but Wade was definitely in decline. The Heat were also back to back champions too.

Kawhi had court rating of +35 that series. :damn:

Spurs average margin of victory was 17.5 points. :dead:

Great team but not top 5.

71 Bucks
72 Lakers
86 Celtics
96 Bulls
17 Warriors

All greater indisputably
You forgot 86-87 Lakers who were also better.

And the 66-67 76ers who were running a modern offense.

I didn’t include the 87 Lakers because besides the finals their opponents in the playoffs were historically weak.

The 67 76ers I agree but I wasn’t comfortable saying they were indisputably better
