You know the marlins get tons of hate and bad press but nobody says shyt about the Astros
There on pace for there 4th 100 lost season in a row and there in a pretty big sports market
They haven't even pretended to get better and refuse to even call up there own prospects to save money

They are absolutely trying to get better. They committed to a complete rebuild and overhaul, which was necessary. Now they have one of the best farm systems in baseball.
Not at all comparable to the Marlins.
Pretty much EVERY team keeps their top prospects in the minors to save money. For a team out of contention, it's the smart move.

They have a few years their entire organization and team was stagnant
They dont have the money like Boston, NY to lure big name free agents and go for it.
They did the smart thing and cut thier entire payroll down to nothing but built up thier farm system
Houston unlike Miami has shown they are willing to spend money and try to compete year in and year out.,
Unfortunately they hit a wall with some terrible signings(Carlos Lee)
Best beleive they will get themselves into a winning position and not sell the team if they do win it all.
Actully they have not shown that at all this is there 4th year rebuilding now and they have only gotten worse so unlike Miami they haven't show there trying to compete year in and year out
There farm system is only so good cuz all of there prospects are there miami has constantly called up and used the prospects they have regardless of service time unlike Houston
they haven't added any legit free agents and Houston is a huge market that draws free agents in every other sport just fine
And best believe the astros haven't won a WS in there 60 years and most likely never will unlike miami
In the situation the Astros were in, trying to compete every year was an impossibility. They did what was necessary for the long-term health of the organization.
Say what you want about it's viability, but they clearly have a plan and are executing it.
They will become the first team in all of sport history to get the first overall pick 4 years in a row that's a complete joke and if the marlins were doing that we never hear the end of it
If they did that while scamming the city into a new stadium with false promises of competitive salaries you'd have a point.
If the Marlins were JUST a shytty team for 4 years, no one would pay them any more attention than anyone else.
