The thing I hate about Baseball more than any other complaint (it being slow, pitchers throwing to first too many times) is that it's the only sport in which the bat is not in your best players hands in crunch time.....I don't fukking want to see Torii Hunter grounding out with the game on the line with Miguel Cabrera on deck. That shyt sucks. That's like if Kobe had to sit and watch Brian Shaw or Sasha Vujacic take game winners....

Like BBaseball would be 150 times better if you could pick who you wanted to bat in the bottom of the 9th with the game on the line. shyt is crazy

This is a good point because you have your closer at the end of the game to pitch. But you could have a pinch hitter though although they're not the best hitters./

RIP Balkin Bob

got to see him live once in B More, he balked in the winning run. this was years later when the early 90's A's had broken up or gotten old, his prime was a little before my time

On June 10, 1944, Joe Nuxhall made baseball history pitching for the Cincinnati Reds at age 15 against the first-place St. Louis Cardinals in Crosley Field.
Nux's debut wasn't pretty. He gave up 5 earned runs on 5 walks, 2 hits and a wild pitch in an 18-0 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. Joe literally fell on his face – tripping on the dugout steps after manager Bill McKechnie told him to warm up.
