I'm not falling for the hype this year. I'll believe it when I see it. I think our D is still a year or two away from being top five.
yeah i think we are a year away from being top 5 but i expect a top 10 D this year

outside of that 1st drive the D looked good with the exception of Chykie Brown :scusthov:

I ain't even watch this shyt, I think i got corrupted by gambling. I am pumped that football season is back for gambling purposes only. I can't wait to see Steve Smith son nikkas out there on the regular basis but other than that the Ravens ain't really getting my dikk hard right now like they used to

OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- The Baltimore Ravens watched another player get injured during Sunday's joint practice with the San Francisco 49ers when backup defensive endKapron Lewis-Moore was carted off the field.

Preseason Live

This comes an hour after cornerback Asa Jacksonneeded to be helped off the field.

Lewis-Moore, the primary backup to Chris Canty, was injured in a pileup. Both teams took a knee around him, including 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh.

It looked like trainers stabilized Lewis-Moore's left knee. He tore his right ACL in his final college game and missed his rookie season with the Ravens as a result. Lewis-Moore sobbed as he was carted off.

The Ravens are now becoming thin at defensive end. The team already lost rookie fourth-round pick Brent Urban to a torn ACL on July 30

Defensively we're a year away. Mosley, Elam, Asa, Brown are all still a little to inexperienced. Mosley needs to put on weight. Elam will be solid, but I can't understand why they used a first on a safety that prefers to hit than play the ball. It's not that kind of league anymore and strong safeties are a dime a dozen. We have an entire roster full of strong safeties and not a single one of them can cover.

Offensively we look a lot better than last year, but just not good enough to carry the team. I'm thinking 8-8 or 9-7 again this year. With another year of experience and decent draft, I think 2015 will be the year where we look more like a force.

P.S. - I don't like Pees as a coordinator. He's basic with his alignments, stunts and likes that 3 man rush. I don't think we will be great with him running the D.

I haven't watched the game yet but I agree with the Pees comment. Dude is just way too vanilla and predictable.

Elam and Brooks didn't look too good tonight

Daryl Smith and Mosley also played subpar

I want to see Arthur Brown get some snaps with the starters

the run D still looks trash too

Trawick played well at FS.Him and Stewart look like they're our best safeties IMO

Flacco was off but the rest of the offense looked decent

the D gotta get it together though, especially the run D

I agree about Arthur Brown. He just looks more active and aggressive. It may not be fair but with Mosley I'm not seeing that knock the ball carrier out mentality that we used to see from our inside backers (Ray, Ellerbe, Scott, Hartwell). I was kind of hoping he would look more like Kiki Alonso from last year and now Shazier with Pittsburgh going sideline to sideline and hitting ball carriers with reckless abandon. I'm hoping Mosley can show a little bit of that in the next two preseason games.

Why can't our big money corners stay healthy? It's been this way really since Rolle and Mcallister in 2007. We need guys who can play one on one in the bump and run to really make our defense go.

that 2006 team was magical. IF steve McNair could have thrown the ball more than 20yrds down the field we would have been in the superbowl imo.

we have too much talent if healthy to miss the playoffs. we got 4 WR's that can explode at anytime (marlon, torrey, steve, jacoby) and good back-ups behind ray rice as long as they can hold onto the ball...and I like teleypharaoh (spelling).

I think Coach Kubes can do well since he only needs to focus on one side of the ball. The thing about john harbaugh is that he's simply the CEO and lets the coordinators play COO....harbaugh is one of the best managers of talent and doesn't have a my way ego beyond motivation and philosophy so he has no problem hiring good talent.

long as we can run the ball to keep the defense fresh we should be good. Two lock down corners if healthy makes defensive coordinating easy as we can experiment with blitzes more often for a change of pace.
