Suspended New Orleans Saints Coach Sean Payton will be in Canton, Ohio this weekend for the Pro Football Hall of Fame ceremony. Payton will not be attending Sunday night's Hall of Fame Game as the Saints take on the Cardinals as he's not allowed to because of the terms of his season-long suspension.
Payton received permission from the NFL to be able to attend the event, league spokesman Greg Aiello said.
Payton and his son, Connor, also received permission by the NFL to fly up to Canton with owner Tom Benson and his wife, Gayle, and General Manager Mickey Loomis on Benson's plane, according to league sources.
Payton will have to call Ray Anderson, the league's executive vice president of football operations, within 24 hours of any contact of anyone from an NFL team to detail his contact considering he's barred from talking to anyone employed by an NFL team.
Two players connected to the Saints will be inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday as former Saints tackle Willie Roaf and former Seahawks defensive lineman and Saints adviser Cortez Kennedy will receive their yellow jackets.
