that's an outdated list. he was ranked 20th before the trade.
i don't know for sure. he has a good era, whip and k/bb, but seems to have gotten fukked out of a lot of wins. also he already has the experience of playing in a hitter's ballpark.
i just think it's worth the risk of giving up two decent prospects who aren't high ceiling guys. plus w/ villanueva he was blocked at 3rd base by beltre and olt anyways.
colby lewis and neftali feliz are having tommy john surgery and oswalt looks burnt out so something had to be done.
i still think it's 50% chance the angels catch us.
It was a good trade for both teams. Cubs had to trade him...no reason to keep him and got a decent 3B prospect in return.
Rangers needed a starter and all it cost them was a prospect who was blocked to say the least.

What's the point of keeping Hairston and Brydak?
Hairston is legitimately our best outfielder, and he's only half a player. If they don't re-sign this guy, then it was fukkin pointless not to just get anything for him. Duda/Hairston is a good platoon for next year... provided they don't have 3 other fukkin platoons in the lineup. This team has soooooooooooooo many holes, more holes than that feminine spelling of "so" I just typed.

Absolutely.
If we want to compete next year, we need to sign/trade for at least 2 STARTING outfielders(Quentin; Swish, Cabrera, Headley, Victorino, Michael Bourn) and sign a long reliever or two that can give you spot starts. Trade Pelf for any prospect w/ potential, sign a backup catcher and shortstop. If you do the following above, that's at worse a 80 win team, maybe a 90 win team if we're lucky
