what part of the game is knowingly letting somebody play you? allowing yourself to be used. were not giving him advice or at least i wasn't i was telling dude its over and she's already moved on and she's using him. if he wants to play that role then that's on him but usually people with even a sliver of self esteem and self respect walk away from situations like that.
