The game is pretty old so if u didn't experience it when it 1st came out I might could understand why u didn't like it.
The graphics are pretty outdated but its a great game. It went with size over graphic quality. If u didn't experience GTA3, Vice City and San Andreas when they all 1st came out I could see why u didn't like it but GTA San Andreas is one of the best games ever made.

Was Read Dead Redemption an update to Red Dead Revolver? I never played that one. Was it any good?

Same series but not really the same story arc. Redemption was an entirely new story arc so there's nothing to go back for in that regard. However, Revolver was still a dope ass game and is worth playing on its own merit.
