Nah, hip-hop was still evolving, peaking even during the 90's. And they would pay homage and respect to those who came before them, wasn't no "you old nikkaz can't understand" bullshyt that the kids of today spit. They also had more variety/diversity and creativity, you wasn't allowed to "bite" styles and prosper, you couldn't even survive if it was discovered you wasn't what you claimed you was.we thought hiphop was garbage back in 2001 and was yearning for the old days of the 90s
now we're actually stuck in a garbage era yearning for 2001
I'm not old enough to remember but I'm sure the old heads were probably yearning for that Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, G rap era during the Pac, Big, Nas era too
we never appreciate sh1t while its here
