I think this thread would go over a lot better if OP left Kawhi completely out of it.
More Khris Middleton than Kawhi. Still good but I don’t see that peak for him.
Why do you keep asking people if they saw that leap coming from Kawhi? You're making this thread AFTER seeing Bridges doing what he's doing. You're not exactly going out on a limb or calling this breakout ahead of time. either
Timing has nothing to do with my assessment.Kawhi's first 4 seasons was 2011-2015. Did you see the heights Kawhi reached, coming for him within those 4 years?
Mikal is in Y5. Kawhi's Y5 was 2016. We ALL know 2016 is not the best version of Kawhi we've seen. He hadn't hit his absolute peak yet in 2016. So are you of the opinion that what we're seeing from Mikal currently is as good as he can be? In '16 were you convinced that was the best version of Kawhi you'd see?
Kawhi was a few years younger. You can't forget that either.I'm telling people in Y5 I see an All-NBA leap coming, which is ahead of the curve because most heads in here say they don't...
And I keep asking folk about Kawhi because dudes keep saying they don't see it with Bridges. So did yall see it with Kawhi? Of course not. Even when Kawhi made his leap in Y5 (just like Mikal currently in Y5), nobody in 2016 was calling homie a "lock Hall Of Famer"...
We not saying that about Mikal now. Even though we see an obvious leap in front of us, and I'm saying there's another level he's gonna hit...
Timing has nothing to do with my assessment.
I see Bridges as a Middleton-level player with similar build and skillset. That's pretty good. Wouldn't be surprised to see him have a 23-25ppg season next year.
I do not see him becoming the lockdown D/30ppg player Kawhi was at his peak. That's an extremely rare occurence.
If he does get that far, I have no problem admitting I was wrong.
Bridges already surpassing a BK legend
