I think everything you mentioned and the Babadook are all garbage.Finally saw it last night andshyt was AMAZING. Dudes will come in here shytting on a real horror movie and bigging up garbage like Strangers, Texas Chainsaw remake, Friday the 13th remake and Rob Zombie garbage like Devil's Rejects.:scustiverson:

Movie was amazing.
The kid was "annoying," but that was entirely the point. You're supposed to feel somewhat sympathetic towards the mother. I hate to use the word annoying, but anyone that's dealt with a kid sitting on the spectrum somewhere, can easily relate.

Finally saw it last night and
Hol' up, hol' up, The Devil's Rejects is a great film. And so is this. For entirely different reasons.
But if you pretend The Devil's Rejects is not a good movie, I will make sure there is no fukkin' ice cream in your fukkin' future.
great charcter study in this film, the horor/fantasy element added extra interest to the plot..i know it was marketed as a Horror fIilm, which may have let many folks down.

I enjoyed it the first time I watched it.. but liked it MUCH better on second viewing when I showed my nieces and nephews that shyt.. they were scared as shyt watching it.
Movie didn't have a bunch of cheap jump scares in it and was built around a plot that dealt with grief... so it's not the usual horror flick.

Good psychological horror flick, I could feel the mothers stress. The actress and the child actor were very good. The last 10 minutes and the ending had me 
but when I properly thought about it, it made sense.
I would only put The Conjuring and Sinister above it.

If your a horror movie mark you would understand why it is highly praised and deservingly so. Essie Davis performance in this is deserving of an Academy Award, she was phenomenal. In this Horror Movie climate The Babadook was a complete breath of fresh air, didn't rely on cheap jump scares and was still creepy/ scary. The underlying themes in this movie also leaves you with much to think about once the movie is over. I think it deserves all the praise it gets. In the last few years when you look at horror performances Essie Davis' performance is head and shoulders above the rest and that's note ever debatable.
This movie rivals anything James Wan has put out in the last couple of years and Wan is basically the Chris Nolan/ Hitchcock of Horror for our generation.

Oscars? yall serious? this was one of the most predictable films ive seen in recent history. the little boy was more impressive to me than the mom. she played a generic ass role imo
