People only talk about Thanos with the gauntlet though. I've been reading up on Thanos since before the MCU when people would mention him in the Rec Room on SOHH. He just seems OP and boring. He's like an evil silver age superman. I don't see how people can call Supes boring and stan Thanos, especially if he has the gauntlet.

Thanos really didn't have many stories that flushed out his character like that imo, up until like 2001 or so, so I dont really blame you. I feel like that's when he was in a bunch of other stuff featured and flushed out a bit more instead of being just that dude with the gauntlet. But your average reader knows him for just that.

He's more like a Dr Doom, but just a straight up power house nihilistic cosmic being. He's a force that smart and actually powerful enough to really take down almost anything in his path but doesn't really care to do so unless they get in his way.

Even when he just wanted to be left alone he has so many enemies that he couldn't even do that.

Reading thanos books or events are always interesting (to me) because its like getting a pov from a someone that has absolute no regard for life, not in a I'm crazy joker way, or I want to be rich way, I'm just some entity or want to rule the world or have a bunch of women... but more from a "rational" I deserve to be recognized as superior to all thing in the universe.

I gave Beerus the advantage over Thanos without the IG because of speed. Both share equally strengths and I'm pretty sure Beerus could hold up to heavyweights like Galactus, Odin, Sutur as well. Otherwise, Thanos wins with the IG which is unfair. I believe both characters were respectfully made to be God-like, overpowered and cunning repectfully due to writing though. Both are nihilistic in demeanor.

Thanos is one of my favorite characters. The IG is probably his most easily known but he's nothing like a Silver Age Superman.

He's more Space Dr. Doom.

Eh, Thanos has literally beat the crap out of Surfer and Surfer is freakishly fast (In and out of combat). He's shown speed comparable to Whis.

Truth is that the Marvel characters are all top tier ungodly fast that isn't just represented the same way.

Just off first glance, these dudes don't seem to be moving fast but they are. It's just a difference in panel composition and how artists show it. Thanos has battled with people who have faster than light speeds so i don't see him being overwhelmed by speed.

Actually, i think Thanos would wax Android 18. Even DBS showed that people with non-conventional powers are like poison for most of these and Androids can get damaged like anyone else.

Thanos would probably turn 18 into an infinite battery for a weapon or just teleport her directly into a sun. Thanos is way too durable for baby non-High tier super characters to match.

Same reason Silver Surfer is a bad matchup for DBZ people too. The ability to absorb, drain, and redirect energy is a huge advantage.

Thanos could just mind-rape 18, teleport her into a sun/blackhole, and he beats down people who walk through suns/supernovas/black holes like they're nothing.
