Texas wasn't relevant since 1960's until Mack Brown came.

Texas only have 3 NC and 2 of those was won in the 60's

Texas was very relevant in the 1970s and early 80s and if not for a special teams malfunction, they win the national title in 83. Texas went through a dry period of average and inconsistent football for the next 15 years. Where Mack is going now is leading Texas to back to that period. You think FSU fans cared about who they were before Bowden? Nah. They were heading for irrelevancy if he stayed there. Texas will be the same if they hold onto a coach that is becoming more clueless.

Miami was heading to their current position even when Coker was there.

Miami wasnt consistently winning 9 games and moving tix. Not looking like this and not making bowls

Coker was an awful coach. He won because he had Butch's players. Miami got worse every year he was there. He pretty much damn near turned his back on South Fla and started recruiting nationally. Everyone knows South Florida has some of the best talent in the country so for him to do that was beyond stupid. It's no coincidence that he hasn't gotten a legit job since.

Miami never really had a strong base to begin with though. Not to mention I don't think UM should be playing games in that stadium but they have no choice. Texas is headed to the point where it will be hard for them to get 9 wins in any year much less a year. Put it like this. 9-3, 10-2, winning conference titles and competing for MNC's and people would shut up. Losing in embarrassing fashion over and over, losing conference records, losing to inferior talented teams when you know you are more talented than that other team, not being prepared for big games , playing soft football, etc. this is Texas football since 2010.

Because Texas botched a punt in the cotton bowl against Georgia. Texas was undefeated and ranked number 2 going into that game. Texas lost 10-9 and thus opened the door for nebbish. Also I believe Miami won the title that year. Could be wrong.

Of course it's not. But the first thing Al Golden said when he got hired was that he wanted to build a fence around Miami and keep those players in their hometown first and foremost. Coker stopped doing that. He let a lot of great players who wanted to go to Miami get away.

They goin end up like Miami after running out Coker if they do

unlike miami, texas didn't get to where they were off paying players with abortions and hookers.

texas is still a top 5 head coaching destination in the ncaa, can't saythe same for miami.

texas got $$$

Yes. It is. You hold down your homegrown talent first than worry about the rest. Where did you think most of Miami players came from? Now those same Dade and Broward players are at West Va, Louisville, and FiU.

Yeah I'm not saying it's a bad thing recruiting nationally, but Miami clearly needs its homegrown talent to be good.
