if you're referring to pfizer or moderna, yes.

I never got the flu vaccine in my adult life but I intend to get the booster shot.

over time the body dials back the number of anti-bodies the vaccine initially triggered into production since no covid antigen is detected. the booster shot is so your immune system will be triggered to creating more anti-bodies, that way you'll have a standing army of anti-bodies thats ready to get to work the moment the the spike protein+covid is detected. it's better than having no anti-bodies circulating and waiting for your immune system to detect and rev up production of antibodies when it might be too late because covid spreads quickly undetected. i read somewhere 2/3 of covid DNA is meant to evade your immune system.
