Because “freedom” and “low taxes” and “support for businesses” and “less regulation” means that infrastructure and maintenance concerns for the public good can go fukk themselves.

This is why every time there is some wild shyt in Texas, like hurricanes or floods or freezing temperatures or, apparently, literal shyt in the water…nothing ever gets done and the people are reliant on the good hearts and pockets of regular people or wealthy celebrities/athletes who just write off their “help” as a tax deduction.
