anybody betting against Tesla is a fool, yeah the stock price go to high too fast. But they're single handedly forcing the electric car revolution that should have happened 20 years ago. I really did take his blind ambition and throwing all that money at it, or you wouldn't see any of these other all electric/self driving innovations.
It's not debatable, the american auto industry was too in the pocket of oil companies and scared to take a risk. GM and Toyota literally took the state of California to court, got the most of the regulations that forced them to start developing electric vehicles thrown out, then repossessed and crushed all of the plug in electric vehicles it had build and leased. This was 99-02, you know right before Bush started a bunch of wars that made gas prices skyrocket for most of the decade.
Tesla was founded pretty much in response to GM and Toyota killing the electric car
Here's why Elon Musk started Tesla - Times of India
That's a great point. MAGA wants them "good emissions"It only clicked to me today that it's not just that Elon is damaging Tesla's brand w/ his Twitter antics... but that Tesla's userbase for the next decade was going to be disproportionately liberals who care about the environment and will choose elsewhere.
He has turned his brand into the car equivalent of a MAGA hat at a time when Trump is saying that EV is unAmerican and so conservatives are shying away. Also, EV competition is finally ramping up and being subsidized by the government at its greatest level ever. Feels like he is taking a lose-lose environment and pouring a can full of more losing on top of it

Plus there's a ton of EVs coming out that are high quality and great looking. If I ever bought an EV a Tesla would be low on my list. Range is about the only appeal for them.
Once actual car companies catch up in development, he's fukked. I work for Audi and we've been knocked for coming out the gate with low range, which we knew was going to be the case starting out with the early etron. Fast forward, and by 2024 we're rolling out the SQ8 etron that is going to have a much better range, 496hp and 718lbs of torque, and it's an Audi...not a chintzy ass cheap POS strapped to a operating system that may or may not kill youIt only clicked to me today that it's not just that Elon is damaging Tesla's brand w/ his Twitter antics... but that Tesla's userbase for the next decade was going to be disproportionately liberals who care about the environment, but will choose an alternative EV brand.
