Eh, excuses are the tools b

The browns ran a ton of Shotgun formations for him. He's been struggling for awhile.
In fairness to @No1 even Baker Mayfield played a different kind of game before Stefanski.

Watson appears to have lost his fastball with the time off, but this offense never suited him either. You can run shotgun plays all day, but if thats not something you've consistently run in camp and developed all summer its a different deal.

Where are the RPOs, play action from the shotgun, etc etc.

And its hard to switch midgame vs a defense like the Steelers.

I will say as sad as it was to lose Chubb. They might actually salvage Watson now. Now they've gotta build a system entirely around him now to survive.

Some guys just fit better as a game manager. He seems to really need to a playmaker/downfield passer.

He may be washed, but we'll find out for sure or not now.

Looks like people finally coming around on deshaun, but I knew what he was

He was just feasting in a weak division here in the AFC south until Tennessee came into their own. It's gonna be tough for him all season and with the money they gave him they can't give him the kind of talent they gave baker
Sorta like Trevor Lawrence the last couple of years :ehh::mjgrin:

Watson was never as good as many of you here and in general believed he was. :yeshrug: .
:comeon:

His last year in Houston he had 4800 yards 33td 7int……and 400 rushing yards

In a way, even now that the mobile passer is the norm, we still don’t have a guy who is what Watson was/where he was headed…except for Mahomes

Better passer than Cam
More athletic and mobile than Herbert, Burrow, Lawrence
Smarter/safer than Allen
Bigger and better pure passer than Lamar and Kyler
Probably a better natural pass than Hurts too.

And his best season was with Cooks as his #1. And Fuller always hurt. When Fuller was healthy Watson looked like the 2ns best QB in thr league. Imagine what he’d do with AJ and DeVonta, or Chase and Higgins, Keenan and Mike…

Watson was different. Not sure what the hell happened to him

Steelers brehs may not like this, but at the moment this is a bad win.

Yall need to get off the treadmill status and that starts with cleaning house (offensively) after a losing season.

Fire Canada and/or replace Pickett. Too many good QBs coming out in this draft for a guy who MAY be Andy Dalton one day.

The irony is that Watson was elite in Bill O'Brien's system. Looks like @BucciMane needs to trade for him.

Still surreal that Deshaun Watson and Russell Wilson are arguably bottom 10 QBs. Would have never imagined this two years ago.
Not only that, but Jalen Hurts being a much better passer than both. I remember when it seemed like the Eagles were going to get one of them.

I have a theory on why the brehs are wearing down, but people may not like it.

I just think since pop warner, HS, college and now in the league these guys take so many hits running the ball that their bodies wear down like RB. I use to think with Cam Newton that once his athleticism went away he could just rely on his throwing. But the years of extra hits impacted his throwing. McNabb was clearly the #3rd best QB of his era and didnt last nearly as long as Manning and Brady.

Jalen and Josh Allen might be rough looking in their early 30s.

Lowkey Dak being surprisingly a worse runner in the pros may have extended his career. Just less hits.

You didn't see him twist his leg on the sack earlier? He hasn't run comfortably since. The thing is, people want Houston Watson but that was an entirely different offense. He was primarily out of the gun with a RB next to him. This under center, play action shyt isn't him. He hasn't looked comfortable in this offense at any point. I don't know if he's washed but he just never looks comfortable back there.
So new head coach or OC then.

They just gonna brag about Tomlin never having a losing season as if that shyt matters in the grand scheme of things. When was the last time Pittsburgh felt this far away from being a Super Bowl contender?

I'm not so sure about this, I think the worst hits QBs take, even running QBs, is in the pocket. When Lamar gets hurt, it's typically in the pocket. It doesn't help that the 2 guys we are mentioning are on new teams as well learning new systems.

What really wore Cam's body out, and I think the reason a lot of brehs are reaching early peaks is heavy lifting. Cam was looking like LeBron in his prime, and sustained a lot of offseason injuries training. Brady and Manning were very relaxed on their bodies training wise, Brady specifically focuses more on cardio and does very little weight training.

See you're focused on worst hits. Im focused on the accumulation of hits.

If Deshaun Watson or whover is getting hit in the pocket like normal QBs and adding 8 to 10 carries a game from being a kid, to HS, to college and some in the pros thats a LOT of wear and tear.

I do agree about cardio/plyo on Brady. However, again he's not taken years of punishment.

Look at how Vick just became washed all of a sudden. Wasnt just a gradual decline, his body just had enough. I thought Russ could last till he's 40, but now his body is giving out.

There's a reason Warren Moon last till his 40s.

Now to be fair there is better training and better methods now for injury prevention and improving their chances to last. However, I'd rather brehs save their legs for the league now tbf.

He's played horrible these first two games, but even when people were hyping him up a few years ago, he was never on the level that many here thought he was.

Better than Mahomes.:mjlol:.
I agree.. I’m a ravens fan and I was never impressed by him when he played us on the Texans a few times. He holds the ball to long and isn’t a great rythm passer imo
