Terrence had a little bit of pull after being nominated for an Oscar for Hustle & Flow and getting critical acclaim for Crash, so this isn't out of the realm of possibility. Remember Howard received the HIGHEST paycheck for the first Iron Man with developing plans of spinning War Machine into its own franchise. Once Iron Man became a colossal hit and shot Robert Downey into superstardom Marvel then came back and low balled Terrence. Terrence told them to kiss his ass and the rest is history.....

I think it was more of Marvel giving up the lowerend and not more so RDJ

smh

Fun fact: Terrence Howard was the highest paid actor in the cast of 2008's "Iron Man,"reportedly earning more money than even star Robert Downey Jr. When it came time to make "Iron Man 2," Marvel Studios decided to renegotiate Howard's deal, in part because of that salary disparity and in part because director Jon Favreau was apparently unhappy with his performance in the first film. Howard wouldn't budge, the two parties went their separate ways, and Don Cheadle replaced the "Hustle and Flow" star in "Iron Man 2" as James Rhodes. End of story -- except not.

During press rounds for Howard's latest film "Dead Man Down," the erstwhile "Iron Man" star didn't hold back on how he felt about the Marvel experience.

"Worst thing I witnessed was 'Iron Man' killing my career," Howard said with a laugh when questioned by Hollywood.com about the worst thing he ever saw.

Howard has been talkative during "Dead Man Down" press, especially when it comes to "Iron Man." In an interview with Spanish-language site Desde Hollywood, Howard said that he decided against pursuing anything against Marvel.

"I love the fact that 'Iron Man' put me on a world stage and tested my strength of character," Howard said (translation via Nerd Reactor). "I chose not to fight back, not to deal with the allegations, but to continue forward and do what I had to do. I had to start all over: went from making $6 million a movie, back to $60 thousand a movie. But as long as you don't give up you are able ... I'll make $20 million soon. Because I have learned the lessons of yesterday."

The recent comments are a change for Howard, who seemed at peace with the split in 2010.

"Despite the customary idea or thought that there's some controversy, it was a wonderful split and I know that they've done well," Howard told E! Online in May of 2010. "Robert Downey Jr. was born to play that part and it was wonderful that that part has given him the stature that he was supposed to hold before."

Howard also alluded to the fact that he was still in contact with Marvel. "Marvel and I are now talking about doing some other things. And Don Cheadle wanted to play that part before I wanted to play it, so everything is very well," he said.

6 million a movie to 60 thou a movie...damn

He's mentioned this before and he also went in to say that after it happened i think he got semi-blackballed too. He ended up having to do $60k movie roles just to get back on

Dis silly ass nikka thought he was the star of the franchise :laff:, should have been content with that whopping $4.5 mil(was very lucky to get that or even be on board the project in the first place) he got from the first film, but instead thought he had the clout of Willly from Philly and tried to get that $8 mil. Should have just taken the $1 mil, :eat: and been part of a franchise that would have made his irrelevant ass "relevant" today.

Nikka is a terrible actor. Anyone see that Law and Order spin off set in LA? He was in it and he was all dramatic and shyt.
He played himself, thought his shyt don't stink. Between a cac and him, they are always going to chose the cac. Especially a jewish nikka.

He will probably blame his lack of success on black women though. :troll:
