Your theory is correct. But the problem is there are many more players to pay then coaches, so they are already getting the lions share (in todays NCAA). It cant go to one QB. What about the receivers? The LBs? DBs? Both lines? He isnt out there alone.
Thats not really for me to worry about tbh, It’ll work itself out in the long run :yeshrug:

If they can pay the cac coaches 12 million then they got 4 for a QB
Coaches only leave when they have something lined up ready to sign. If Nico has some team out there ready to give him more then Tennessee then this is all moot. But it seems like he's jumped to the portal looking for more and no one is bitting, that's where he fukked up. Teams have known since December he was available to the highest bidder
He was tossed into the portal by the coaches per the article in here.

Them 80 other players dont contribute what the starting QB contributes, thats like saying Patty shouldnt get what he gets from the Chiefs cuz theres 50+ guys on the team.

NIL is about getting what you are worth :yeshrug: Some QBs are getting that and I support Nico trying to get it to (but not skipping practices)

He was tossed because he kept going around asking for money from other schools and it got back to Tenn. He must have thought he would get an offer that Tenn could match, but again it didn't happen

Per this chart of TOTAL collective NIL for each school, Tennessee is only at basically $12 million total for all athletes. No way to justify paying $4 million to one QB, and screw the rest of the athletes at the school.

Theres nothing militant about my stance, I certainly am biased for the players (while admitting that Nico should not have skipped practices)

But thats only because I KNOW the ncaa and these cac coaches been on some BS for decades

So I want the players to push the boundaries because they deserve the lions share of the pay.

If its ok for the coaches to do it, then its ok for the players is my stance.
I agree that coaches and the schools have always been on some bullsh*t the majority of the time, but this Nico situation is a unique outlier of a case. Coaches usually are either stepping into a better job or at worst a lateral move to a similar school and situation. Nico and his camp had no plans or back up moves whatsoever. Does he want to haggle and sit out over an extra million right now or did Josh Heupel and Tennessee have the blueprint and game plan to get him to the NFL where he's getting $15 million a season starting off in a couple of years? That's the question.

Well he aint worth $4, thats the point.

But also, he dont block for himself, nor throw to himself, so his stats are relative to the rest of them getting some too.

the question is: is he NFL caliber? I didnt want much Tennessee this year, but stat wise, I only see he passed for about 2,500 yards. Thats 200/game. That aint shyt.

He probably could have a dozen or so schools knocking on his door, but it sounds like his dad might be a major problem and a headache to deal with. You would think that Riley and USC with all their bread would be all over dude. Evidently not.

He was tossed for missing practices apparently

If the reason that you stated was solely the reason, then thats not right since the cac coaches do it all the time.

But all 80 of them dudes dont play and NIL dont pay equally. He not worth it the 4 to Tennessee sure, but this saga aint over :ahh: He’ll be fine his stats were great for a freshman.

he had over 20 tds and 5 ints as a freshman, he has potential

His saving grace is that he was a freshman last year and it was the SEC. Of course he would need better numbers going forward but at 6'6", strong arm, and can run-take hits, the potential was/is there.

You didn't address a single damn thing I said.

That's good that you want them to get paid, nobody is against that, however....

1. Nobody wants to go into a season thinking you have a qb, then suddenly some team just randomly comes and pulls them away last minute. Like wth. Now you have no relevant QB and no time to recruit anyone, you just get portal leftovers .

2. You are ruining the game if you think that's acceptable for that to be the norm operation.

3. This dude is not even that good. So what that does now is ruin the market for overrated players to get paid way too much.

If I had my way, you are signing out of high school for a minimum of 2 yrs. After that, you can transfer etc and you must transfer within a small window and tampering is monitored.

I'm glad Heupel told him to kick rocks after skipping out on practices etc. trying to hold the team hostage.

Like it or not, fans will stop paying big money to attend games, etc if this continues.
No the fans will not lmfao. You’re mad because you value the team over these guys getting paid and that’s not the case anywhere else in America. Blame capitalism not the kids.

But they leave. And they are supposed to be the grown ups in these young mens lives.

No one against Nico leaving though it’s the way his family has went about it. Coaches get criticized when they leave a certain way too. shyt nikkas was getting down on Deion when he left. It’s not like coaches skirt any criticism for this kind of stuff.
